Loverboy Julio

When Sam and I started interviewing people for San Diego I Love You 2.0 I had no idea what I was going to hear.  I was surprised by the amount of funny things these people had to say.  One liners, anecdotes, and pick up lines.  Then there were the stories of waiting next to a phone.  The anxiety of wondering whether their loved one has made it through the night.  The utter soul crushing feeling of seeing a message on the answering machine and realizing that you missed the call you've been waiting all day, sometimes all month for.  I had ideas for the show before we began, little plot twists, meta moments, and I realized that these people and their stories are too real for that, and dramatic enough that any pre thought-out ideas went out the door.  I met some wonderful people and I wanted to display aspects from their lives as truthfully as I could.

I would like to point out how incredibly easy and fun it is to work with Sam Ginn.  She's a true treasure of San Diego theatre, and one of my best friends.  I'm learning a lot from working with Patrick Kelly.  This ship is headed the right direction largely because of him.
I'm also excited for Circle fans to meet some new actors.  This show marks the Circle Circle dot dot debut for 5 of our 9 actors.  I can't wait for you to meet them and see how talented they are.
Thanks for reading, enjoy the show!
