"The Warriors' Duet" Remount

Many of our fans missed our run of Charlene Baldridge's 'The Warriors' Duet' at the San Diego Fringe Festival last month, and it's totally understandable why.  We sold out our small venue super quick, and there were only 3 shows.

However- if you've heard the rumblings of a remount, we are here to confirm that it's true!  We are currently in the works of developing a limited engaged remount in early September.  As soon as we have all of the info- (space, dates, times)- you will be the first to know.  Until then, check out some of the AMAZING reviews we proudly received on this production that we managed to not share during the hussle and bustle of the festival:

Bill Eadie (Talkin' Broadway)

Kris Eitland (San Diego Story)

Rob Appel (sdtheatrereviews)

Carol Davis (Examiner)

James Hebert (U-T San Diego)

We are very proud of this beautiful piece and cannot wait to bring the life-affirming message of Laura Jeanne Morefield to more audiences in San Diego.

Stay tuned for the announcement next week!

Twainfest and CCdd

There are oodles of things boiling in the Circle camp friends.  Oodles and oodles- and one particular project that we will be needing YOUR help with!  All of the info on this and our upcoming season will be out by the end of August, but until then- we have 'Twainfest' to look forward to!

The wonderful folks from 'Write Out Loud' connected with us about developing and performing a small piece for their annual literary festival that takes place in Old Town on August 17th, and we jumped at the opportunity to work with the amazing organization.

Company member Samantha Ginn is taking on the writing/directing of the project and her cast includes CCdd favorites Julio Jacobo and Brendan Cavalier.

On Friday we had the chance to walk through the location where our piece will be presented in Old Town- the unique "Commercial Restaurant" museum that is part of the historical monument of the Park.  We love the opportunity to put on shows in unique locations, and this space will truly lend itself to Sam's spooky script.

Here are some pictures that show you around the space a little:

Sam found a friend to help her with blocking.

Tempting museum artifacts- check.

Rat-infested eggs?  Check.  (Don't worry friends, it's fake!)

As you can see, we're going to have a lot of fun in this unique space.  Come check us out at this FREE event on August 17th!  We would be so happy to bring some of our audiences to Twainfest, and we hope to meet new potential audience members for ous work as well!

See you there San Diego!

Introducing our newest Company Member: Julio!

Julio as 'Guuol' from "Ragnarok"

My name is Julio Jacobo, and I'm the newest company member of Circle Circle dot dot. Although I'm just now officially becoming a company member, I've been working with the company from the very start. I've played Cupid, an Orc named Guuol, and the Duchess Hunny Mustard, I hosted MORP, impersonated an alien, and sang and danced on a trolley all because of my love for Circle. When Circle started I was out of college, working a soul draining job that I hated, and hadn't done anything creative for over a year. I felt myself slipping into a life I never wanted for myself. I was asked to run the sound board for Circle's first staged reading, and was later asked to join the cast. Since then I've done plays throughout the city, I've started performing stand up comedy, I joined a podcast, I finished school, and I even have a job performing improv. I look back to 3 years ago, and none of this would have been possible if I never got that shot in the arm that Circle gave me. It's given me so much, and I'm ready to give back.

This organization is filled with some insanely talented people and has been putting out truthful art that tells the stories of some of our community's unsung heroes. It's forged relationships with some of the best street artists, dancers, drag queens, comedians, writers, directors, and actors that San Diego has to offer. It's been doing an amazing job, and as I join I look to help elevate the quality of our work to an even higher level. I've begun the slow process of writing my own community based story that I hope to one day mount. The bottom line is I believe in what we do.

The real cherry on top of the sundae is that I genuinely love these people. The members of Circle Circle dot dot are some of my best friends and have always treated me with the utmost respect. To the members of Circle I'd like to say thank you and I love you. To the fans of Circle, I can't wait to give you all that I have.
